Another overnight massive crackdown reported against PTI workers

JEHLUM/RAWALPINDI: A series of overnight raid and arrests have been reported from different areas of central and northern Punjab in what appears to be yet another crackdown against workers and supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Senior leader of PTI Fawad Chaudhry has claimed that more than 500 party workers have been rounded up during two days of crackdown in different parts of the country.

His comment came after reports that some 30 PTI workers were arrested from Rawalpindi during multiple overnight raids in different parts of the city. Besides that, the houses of Raja Basharat, Wasiq Qayoom and Arif Abbasi were also raided by the Rawalpindi police.

And also, several party workers were arrested from Jehlum and Pind Dadan Khan.

In Rawalpindi’s Naseerabad, over 200 PTI workers have been booked in a separate case under charges of interfering in state matters and violation of Section 144.
