KABUL: Afghanistan will host Pakistan for a three-match One-day International (ODI) series in February-March in 2023, according to Future Tour Programs (FTP) schedule announced by the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB).
However, the dates of the Pakistan-Afghanistan series will be confirmed later. The Afghan cricket board revealed their FTP schedule for 2022-23. The Afghan team will play a total of 37 ODIs, 12 T20Is and 3 tests in the period.
“Considering the fact that Afghanistan will be playing 7 ODI series in the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, as well as will participate in four major limited-overs events such as Asia Cup 2022 (T20 format), ICC T20 World Cup 2022, the Asia Cup 2023 (ODI format) & the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023,” the ACB said in an official release.
The ACB also stated that the team’s focus will be on playing limited-overs match due to the fact that major ICC events are scheduled for the next two years.
Afghanistan won’t play any of the Test matches on their home soil. Their two Test matches are scheduled in Zimbabwe and one is scheduled to be played in Ireland.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan will also tour India in March 2022 for three ODIs while they will host Australia for three T20Is in May-June 2022.
