KARACHI: Four Afghanistan players are likely to leave Pakistan Super League (PSL) season seven midway as they are scheduled to play Bangladesh in the 2023 World Cup qualifying games.
The Afghanistan cricket team will arrive in Bangladesh later this month to play three one-day internationals and two Twenty20 matches, the Bangladesh Cricket Board said.
The Bangladesh-Afghanistan ODIs are part of the competition and will take place at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on February 23, 25 and 28, the BCB said late Thursday. Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka will host the two T20 matches on March 3 and 5.
Franchises may lose the services of Rashid Khan (Afghanistan), Mohammad Nabi (Karachi Kings), Hazratullah Zazai (Peshawar Zalmi) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (Islamabad United).
Afghanistan is also expected to hold a seven-day training camp in the north-eastern city of Sylhet before the start of the ODI series. The participation of these players is highly uncertain in the later stages of HBL PSL 7 now.
The second-leg of HBL PSL is schedule to commence from February 10.
