American actor and comedian Kevin James has revealed a significant weight loss journey, shedding over 60 pounds through an extensive fasting regimen lasting more than a month.

However, James acknowledged that the weight loss was short-lived as he regained it after ceasing the fasting practice.

During an interview with podcaster Joe Rogan, James said that he embarked on the weight loss journey to portray a priest in a movie, reaching a low of 230 pounds. Subsequently, his weight surged back to 280 pounds following the conclusion of filming.

Upon learning of the need for additional scenes, James realized he had to shed the weight once more. He detailed fasting for “41 and a half” days to swiftly achieve the necessary weight loss for reshoots, surviving solely on “water and a little salt” for approximately six weeks.

Reflecting on his approach, James emphasized his determination, stating, “When I lock on, I can do something.” Despite encountering challenges during the fasting period, including feeling “pretty miserable” at times, James remained committed to his goal.
