KARACHI: Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Investigation in two separate operations in the Korangi area of Karachi arrested a key operative of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Bannu and an alleged target killer belonging to MQM London.
According to sources, CTD police conducted two separate operations in the Korangi area. In the first operation, a key terrorist of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Bannu, Minhaj-ud-Din alias Minhaja son of Naik Amal Khan was arrested and weapons were recovered from his possession.
CTD officials said that the arrested terrorist belonged to the TTP Bannu Akhtar Group and was considered an expert in making and installing bombs.
Accused was in Karachi to flee abroad, Minhaj was involved in the murder of three peace jirga members Farooq, Aleem and Abdullah this year.
KPK police were being contacted to check the further criminal record of the arrested accused.
In another operation, CTD Investigation Police arrested the alleged target killer Lal Badshah son of Jamal Khan belonging to MQM London and recovered weapons from his possession, CTD in-charge said.
According to Chaudhry Safdar, the arrested accused was a close associate of notorious terrorist Raees Mama. The arrested accused is involved in the murder of activists of the nationalist party Jeay Sindh in 2010.
Earlier, The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) had informed that a criminal was killed in an encounter in Karachi’s Pehlwan Goth area.
According to details, the suspect was involved in at least 11 targeted killings and over 200 other street crimes. The suspect was also wanted to the CTD in the murder of ASI Ghulam Muhammad. The snatched weapon from the deceased ASI was also recovered.
