KAKUL: Amidst criticism from the opposition, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Bajwa has assured that the armed forces will continue supporting the elected government in line with the Constitution.
The statement came while addressing the passing out ceremony of 142nd PMA Long Course, 32nd Technical Graduate Course, 61st Integrated Course, 16th Lady Cadet Course, and 1st Basic Military Training Course.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations, the cadets from Palestine, Maldives, Qatar and Sri Lanka were also among the passed out courses. Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa attended the event as the chief guest.
“The Pakistan Army has defeated terrorism and a five-time bigger enemy in February last year,” COAS Bajwa said, adding that the country’s military was the reflection of a prestigious nation.
COAS Bajwa said, “Our fight against, terrorism, COVID-19, floods, and our response to the locust threat is a testimony to both our capacity to work and deliver. He further said that the failed enemies of Pakistan are feeling frustrated and imposing a hybrid war on Pakistan.
“Pakistan was also subjected to wars, terrorism, and economic strangulation. However, we have survived. The enemies who brought us to doom and destruction are now watching us in disdain,” COAS Bajwa added.
COAS also said, “Having failed and feeling frustrated they have now subjected us to a 24/7 hybrid war,” adding that this war was not fought on the battlefield but in the minds. “In this new war, however, leadership at all levels is the target,” he added.
The army chief said that he is satisfied that the institutions in the country are getting stronger. “Pakistan paid a very heavy price to achieve peace and will maintain it at every cost,” he remarked.
He said that Pakistan has made great efforts for regional and global peace, according to Quaid’s vision. “It was a difficult journey but the satisfaction is that today our institutions are getting stronger and working together to serve Pakistan,” he added.
