Ceasefire violations: Pakistan lodges strong protest with India

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday summoned a senior Indian diplomat to register a strong protest against the ceasefire violations by Indian armed forces along the Line of Control (LoC), a Foreign Office statement said.
According to a Foreign Office press release issued on Wednesday, due to indiscriminate and unprovoked firing by the Indian soldiers in the Danna sector of LoC on 3 February.
due to firing, a young girl, Shamim Bibi aged 22, daughter of Muhammad Shabbir, Farhaz 10, son of Muhammad Shabbir, Ansar 35, residents of Chatargam village and Moniza Bibi, 17 daughters of Sain Noor, resident of Bagh Ali, suffered serious injuries.
The statement further stated denouncing the targeting of innocent civilians by the Indian soldiers, it was underscored that such senseless Indian acts, in clear violation of the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding and complete disregard for international human rights.
Added tath further vitiate the tense atmosphere along the LoC and pose a threat to regional peace and stability, statement.
It was also urged that by raising tensions along the LoC and the Working Boundary India could not divert attention from the worsening human rights situation in the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistan called upon the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding; investigate this and other incidents of plan ceasefire violations and maintain peace along the LoC.
It was also said that India should allow the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) to play its mandated role as per the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
