AC summons ex-PM Ashraf in illegal appointments case

LAHORE: An accountability court has summoned former premier Raja Pervaiz Ashraf in the illegal appointments in the electric power company.
The move came after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) earlier filed a case against Raja Pervaiz Ashraf in the same case.
Raja Pervaiz Ashraf along with and seven other accused is facing charges of illegal recruitment in the Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO).
The NAB had filed a reference against the former premier for misusing his authority and violating the rules in hiring 437 employees in Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO).
Former secretary water and power Shahid Rafi, former directors of Gepco’s boards of governors including Saleem Arif, Malik Muhammad Razi Abbas, and Wazir Ali were also involved in the same reference filed in 2016.
