KARACHI: Karachi is experiencing intense heat, with temperatures approaching 39°C, but the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast a change in weather conditions and possible rainfall over the coming days.
According to the weather forecast, different parts of Karachi may receive thunderstorms and strong winds on Monday, which could bring some relief from the prevailing heat.
Weather experts said cloudy conditions and intermittent rainfall, ranging from light to heavy, may continue over the next few days. The chances of rain and thunderstorms are comparatively higher on September 18.
Experts have advised citizens to avoid direct exposure to sunlight during the hottest hours, stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities.
Residents have also been urged to stay away from weak structures, signboards and old trees during periods of strong winds and thunderstorms to avoid any untoward incident.
Amid the ongoing heatwave-like conditions, medical experts and the administration have also advised citizens to take precautionary measures, particularly during daytime hours.
