KARACHI: A fierce fire broke out at a factory in the Export Processing Zone in Karachi’s Landhi area, prompting fire and rescue teams to launch emergency operations at the site.
According to rescue officials, fire brigade vehicles, rescue personnel and ambulances were dispatched to the factory immediately after the incident was reported. The chief fire officer classified the blaze as a third-degree fire, indicating its severity.
An emergency has been declared at the Landhi and Sherpao hydrants to ensure an adequate water supply for firefighting operations. Multiple fire brigade vehicles and rescue teams are currently at the scene and working to bring the blaze under control.

Rescue officials said three people, including a woman, fell unconscious after inhaling smoke inside the factory. They were taken to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment.
Efforts to extinguish the fire are still underway. Further details regarding the cause of the blaze and the extent of the financial damage are expected to emerge once the emergency operation is completed.
