Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Karachi West Tariq Elahi Mastoi has said that the family of Azan, the child who was abducted from New Nazimabad, received a ransom demand of more than PKR 5 million. However, law enforcement agencies successfully rescued the child without paying any ransom.
Speaking to the media, SSP Mastoi stated that police teams began working on the case immediately after it was reported. Following the ransom call, investigators traced the phone numbers used by the suspects and determined that the calls were being made from areas near Thatta and Gharo.
He said police teams were promptly dispatched to the identified locations, leading to the safe recovery of the child.
SSP West emphasized that the primary objective throughout the operation was to ensure the child’s safe and secure recovery.
Earlier, the child’s father, Abdul Wahab, confirmed that his son Azaan had been found safe in Gharo.
The toddler was allegedly kidnapped from a private housing society in Manghopir, following which police launched a search operation.
