DIG Investigation in Lahore Syed Zeeshan Raza has taken notice of reports circulating on social media regarding the arrest and alleged criminal record of accused Anmol alias Pinky, ordering an internal audit into the matter.

According to the DIG Investigation, the task of conducting the audit was assigned to the SPCRO branch. Following the audit process, it was revealed that narcotics-related cases had previously been registered against both brothers of the accused.

Officials said drug cases were registered against the accused’s brothers, identified as Nasir and Riaz, at Iqbal Town Police in 2020 and Kot Lakhpat Police in 2022, respectively.

The DIG Investigation stated that Anmol alias Pinky had been nominated as an accused in both cases, but her arrest in connection with the cases remained pending.

According to Syed Zeeshan Raza, challans in both cases had already been prepared and submitted before the relevant courts, while the trial proceedings concerning the accused’s brothers had been completed.

However, the arrest of the nominated accused in both cases has yet to be carried out.

The DIG said permission was being sought from the relevant courts to arrest the accused and complete the legal process. He added that special teams had also been formed to transfer the accused to Punjab.

Syed Zeeshan Raza further said departmental action had been initiated against the relevant investigation officers for allegedly failing to arrest Anmol alias Pinky in a timely manner despite her nomination in the cases.
