Netflix’s hit period drama Bridgerton has officially been confirmed for a fifth season, with the series set to return in 2027, according to early production details revealed by the platform.
Filming for Bridgerton Season 5 began in March 2026 in the United Kingdom, with the upcoming season currently in active production.
Netflix is expected to release the first official images from the new season in March 2026, giving fans an early look at the next chapter of the popular series.

The new season will center on Francesca Bridgerton, played by Hannah Dodd, who steps into the lead romantic storyline.
She will be joined by Michaela Stirling, portrayed by Masali Baduza, marking the show’s first confirmed queer love story at the center of a main season arc.
According to production details, Francesca’s storyline follows her return to the marriage market two years after the death of her husband John, setting the stage for a new emotional journey. The season will consist of eight episodes.
Previous seasons of Bridgerton have focused on different members of the Bridgerton family, including Daphne and Simon in Season 1, Anthony and Kate in Season 2, Colin and Penelope in Season 3, and Benedict’s romance in Season 4, which was released in two parts in early 2026.
