Under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), the government has further simplified the registration process in 2026 to support deserving families.

Citizens can now not only apply online but also check their eligibility instantly through the 8171 SMS service.

The programme aims to provide financial assistance to low-income households across the country, enabling them to meet basic needs such as food, education and healthcare. In recent years, it has played a significant role in reducing poverty and improving living standards among vulnerable groups.

According to officials, applicants must meet certain basic criteria, including low income, family size, and the absence of a stable source of income. Women are given priority as heads of households to ensure better financial management.

For registration, applicants can visit the official portal, enter their CNIC number, family details and contact information, and submit their application. A confirmation message is sent upon submission, and the digital system has accelerated the verification process.

Additionally, eligibility can be checked by sending the CNIC number to 8171 via SMS. Those deemed eligible receive further instructions regarding registration and payment procedures, reducing the need for in-person visits.

Required documents for approval include a valid CNIC, proof of residence (such as a utility bill or rental agreement), and income-related details. Providing complete and accurate information helps speed up the verification process.

Once registration is complete, financial assistance is provided directly to beneficiaries, which can be collected through banks or mobile services such as JazzCash and Easypaisa. This support helps cover household expenses, children’s education and healthcare needs.

Note: Applicants are advised to provide accurate information, retain their registration number, and use only official channels to avoid fraud.
