Pakistan has outright rejected Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar’s statement regarding the alleged mistreatment of minorities in Pakistan.
Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated that there is evidence of state oppression against minorities in India, where incidents against minorities occur with the collusion of government elements. He added that India is in no position to claim to be a champion of minority rights.
The spokesperson further stated that state institutions in Pakistan ensure the protection of minorities, whereas in India, hatred and violence against minorities are being promoted.
He also pointed out that attacks on mosques and shrines have become routine in India. Instead of criticizing others, the Indian government should ensure the protection of its minorities, including Muslims.
Alarmingly, India continues to commit the worst human rights violations in occupied Kashmir, and the silence of the international community on this matter is regrettable.
Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other top Indian leaders repeatedly make baseless accusations against Pakistan in a failed attempt to cover up their own oppression and injustices.
