Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is observing a Black Day today to mark one year since the general elections held on February 8, 2025, during which protests are being held across the country.

According to a report by Geo News on Saturday, despite the imposition of Section 144 in Punjab, PTI workers are protesting in various cities, while the party has also organized a rally in Swabi.

The police have arrested Mehr Bano Qureshi, daughter of PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi, former Member of the Assembly Zahid Bahar Hashmi, and Dilair Mehar for violating Section 144 in Multan.

The police stated that the three PTI leaders were arrested from Pul Chhatta for violating Section 144, and in addition, more than 10 PTI workers were also arrested for holding a rally.

In Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir, PTI workers attempted to protest at Azadi Chowk, resulting in the detention of several workers.

Khawaja Farooq, the opposition leader in the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly and a PTI leader, escaped police custody to avoid arrest.

The police had placed Khawaja Farooq in a vehicle, but the worker’s driver fled the scene before the police could get in. The police continued to run after Khawaja Farooq’s vehicle on foot.

Later, the Assistant Commissioner of Muzaffarabad reported that the police had arrested opposition leader Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, who has been placed under house arrest, and 16 protesting PTI workers have also been arrested.
