Recently, Sonakshi opened up about the grand, romantic proposal Zaheer made to her, which she describes as one of their most unforgettable moments together.
In a candid chat with Brides Today, Sonakshi revealed that Zaheer is the more “filmy” and romantic one in their relationship, often surprising her with grand gestures. She shared, “He’ll pull out the dialogues and songs at the right moment, and make grand gestures.” Zaheer, in turn, chimed in, calling Sonakshi romantic too, though he believes his gestures often steal the show.
The actress then recalled the day Zaheer proposed to her under the magical Northern Lights. “It was the sweetest thing ever and one of the best moments we’ve had. I was clueless about his plans to propose during that trip. But he just went for it,” Sonakshi said, visibly moved by the memory of the special moment.
Zaheer and Sonakshi, who had been dating for seven years before tying the knot, have always kept their relationship relatively private. Reflecting on their efforts to maintain secrecy, Zaheer humorously shared, “We’d enter a party separately, so the paparazzi wouldn’t know we were dating. But inside, we were pretty much like a couple.” He added, “For seven years if you see a man and woman sitting together and chatting for hours, it’d be clear something was going on.”
Sonakshi, who tied the knot with Zaheer on June 23 in a beautiful ceremony in Mumbai, also spoke about the qualities she admires in her husband. She called him “extremely generous and respectful,” adding that he is very expressive about his feelings.
Just a few days ago, the couple celebrated their five-month wedding anniversary in Italy. Sonakshi shared a beautiful picture from the trip, writing, “Couple celebrating 5th month (versary) on the 4th honeymoon, vibe hai, vibe hai, vibe hai.”
The couple first met at a party hosted by Salman Khan and later worked together on the film Double XL and the music video Blockbuster. Their chemistry, both on and off screen, has made them a beloved pair in Bollywood.
