Bushra Ansari clarifies comments on son-in-laws, praises one in New York

MM News Staff by MM News Staff
January 19, 2025

Veteran actress Bushra Ansari clarified her previous comments about her sons-in-law, stating that her remarks were directed at only one of them, not both.

In December 2024, during a vlog, Bushra strongly criticized those who demand dowry, calling them “shameless.” She shared that she had provided homes for her daughters’ husbands out of love but felt they did not appreciate her support. Bushra described one of her sons-in-law as ungrateful without naming him and referred to him as “shameless.”

In her latest vlog, Bushra set the record straight, explaining that her comments were aimed at one son-in-law, not both. She clarified that her statements were not about her daughters’ personal issues but were more of a social commentary. “Everyone makes mistakes, and parents, especially, should try not to make those mistakes,” she said.

She also touched on her views about marriage and financial stability, urging men to consider whether they are financially capable of supporting their wives before getting married. Likewise, she advised women to carefully consider whether their partner is financially stable enough to make a successful marriage. “If a man can’t support his wife financially, he shouldn’t marry. And if a woman marries someone unstable, she should understand that he won’t be able to keep her happy,” she stated.

Reflecting on her own parenting, Bushra admitted to making mistakes but emphasized that parents should be cautious not to over-support their daughters after marriage to the point that their sons-in-law become dependent and unappreciative.

The actress also shared that her two daughters, Mira Ansari and Nirman Ansari, are both married, with Nirman facing marital challenges after 20 years of marriage. While Bushra did not provide specifics, she described the situation as an “eye-opener” for her. However, she reassured her audience that her other daughter, Mira, is happily married and living with her husband in New York. Bushra praised Mira’s husband, describing him as a “good man,” and made it clear that her comments were not aimed at him.

Bushra Ansari’s clarification comes after her initial remarks sparked significant attention, particularly regarding her views on dowry and the responsibilities of both husbands and wives in a marriage.
