Pakistan Railways has launched the domestic production of 620 cargo wagons, building on the successful delivery of 200 units, marking a major step forward in the country’s railway manufacturing capabilities.
With the support of a Chinese company, Pakistan is now manufacturing modern freight wagons to improve transportation capacity.
The project is expected to create 450 new jobs and provide valuable training opportunities for young technicians.
As part of this initiative, 115 flat wagons have been assembled in Lahore with Chinese investment and are set to be deployed in April.
Moreover, 115 newly produced wagons from Risalpur have been stationed at Karachi Port, enhancing the country’s freight-handling capabilities.
