KARACHI: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has opened Asia’s largest visa center in Pakistan’s biggest city and commercial hub Karachi.
The visa center, one of the largest in Asia, will provide distinguished consular services in line with the latest international standards.
11 counters have been established at visa center.
More than 1.7 million Pakistani expatriates live in the UAE and work in different public and private sectors, who remit over $4 billion to Pakistan annually.
The center’s establishment has comforted the residents, who expressed relief over the emirate’s initiative.
The centre was formed to save time, according to UAE Consul General Bakheet Ateeq Al Remethi, who commented on the development.
He highlighted that there are 1.7 million Pakistanis living in the UAE and that there are no visa restrictions in any region.
Earlier in the day, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah visited the UAE visa center on the invitation of United Arab Emirates Consul General Bakheet Al Romaithi.
