LAHORE: The Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has expressed apprehensions that the ‘tactics’ being employed by the ruling coalition of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)will not only pit armed forces directly against judiciary but also against the nation.
His comments came after National Assembly on Thursday passed resolution rejecting the Supreme Court’s verdict regarding holding Punjab elections on May 14. The resolution, moved by Balochistan Awami Party lawmaker Khalid Magsi, also called for not implementing the court decision which was against the law and the Constitution.

Law experts expressed opinion that Members of National Assembly (MNAs) who signed the resolution risked to be disqualified for violating article 68 of the constitution.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday, the PTI Chairman said “It is now clear what PDM wants – any which way to get out of elections. They brought in an unconstitutional bill on SC & an NA resolution against Judiciary. Now tomorrow an NSC mtg called to try & use security as pretext for postponement of elections. This will pit armed forces directly against not just judiciary but also the nation.”
