ISLAMABAD: Important reshuffle in the federal cabinet is underway as the government has decided to appoint Asad Umar the new Planning Minister of Pakistan.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan announced this significant shift in the federal cabinet on twitter saying, “Govt has decided to appoint former finance minister Asad Umar as Federal Minister for Planning and Special initiative.” She added, “Khusro Bakhtiar (current Planning Minister) will be given the portfolio of the Ministry of Petroleum.”
According to Special Assistant on Information & Broadcasting, the notification of changes in the federal cabinet will be issued soon.
Earlier, Asad Umar quitted the federal cabinet saying that Prime Minister Imran Khan wanted him to take over as energy minister but he didn’t believe that was the right move.
