ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has blamed former Prime Minister Imran Khan for the rise in prices of petroleum products in the country.
While reacting to the increase in prices of petroleum products, the prime minister said that he is well aware of the effects of an increase in prices of petroleum products.

He wrote that due to the IMF agreement, there was no other option but to increase the prices. The IMF agreement was signed by the PTI government.
Shehbaz Sharif said that IMF and PTI will soon inform the nation about the details of the government’s deal. “We will get out of economic difficulties very soon,” he maintained.
Earlier, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail announced that the government was no longer in a position to bear the subsidy, so it decided to increase the price of petrol by Rs 24.03 and diesel by Rs 59.
As per the announcement, the price of petrol from today has become Rs 233.89 per liter, diesel Rs 263.31, kerosene Rs 211.43, and light diesel oil Rs 207.47 per liter. Miftah Ismail said the government had raised prices with a ‘heavy’ heart because there was no other option in the world due to rising oil prices.
