ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry on Monday asserted that the federal government would soon launch a character assassination campaign against former prime minister and party’s chairman Imran Khan through ‘fake videos and audios’.
In a video message posted on Twitter, Fawad Chaudhry said that the imported government tried to use blasphemy cases against political opponents.
He said that the government will also start a major campaign for character assassination of Imran Khan, adding that these are the last weeks of the dummy government and the real freedom movement is not going to stop because of these issues.

Last week, Imran Khan said the Sharif mafia will launch a character assassination campaign against him after Eid as they had done against Benazir Bhutto by circulating her and her mother Nusrat Bhutto’s fake pictures in the past.
Khan said the ‘corrupt mafia’ would first win the support of the people after bribing them and then it would terrorise its opponents by giving life threats. “Shehbaz Sharif was involved in using police and killing his opponents in fake encounters.”
Imran said the Sharif mafia had launched a campaign against Jemima Goldsmith (his former wife) who had embraced Islam and dubbed her as an agent of the Jews and added that they also lodged a fake case of exporting antique tiles against Jemima and dragged her to the court.
“They were also involved in giving money to Reham Khan, asking her to write a book against me before the 2018 election and now they would again launch a character assassination campaign against me after the Eid. It’s my message to them that I will stand against them till I am alive,” he added.
Earlier in the day, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) restrained the authorities from arrest of Shahbaz Gill on his return from the United States.
Chief Justice Athar Minallah issued the order on a petition of protective bail for Shahbaz Gill, apprehending his arrest on return from the US visit, filed by Faisal Chaudhry.
He pleaded to the court that Gill was in America on the day when the incident took place. “Several FIRs of the incident have been registered in Faisalabad and other cities, which is against the laws of the land,” Faisal Chaudhry who appeared on behalf of the petitioner argued.
