Gardener of Parks dept Karachi central promoted to grade 17

Azmat Khan by Azmat Khan
January 20, 2022

KARACHI: Muhammad Sharif Khan, a gardener of Parks District Central Department under Sindh Local Government Department, has become Deputy Director of Grade 17 after obtaining an illegal up-gradation from Grade 1 to 17. The Anti-Corruption Department on the complaints has again started inquiry against Muhammad Sharif who survived earlier inquiry after offering an alleged bribe.

According to letter No. SO (AC) E & ACE / 19-983 / 2021 issued by the Anti-Corruption Establishment on 28th December 2021, an inquiry has been started against Muhammad Sharif Khan, Deputy Director Parks. An inquiry has been started against Muhammad Sharif Khan over promotion through the fake records and misuse of government position and the record of which was sought from Sindh Local Government Department.

Following the anti-corruption letter, a letter was issued by the Secretary Local Government Board on January 3 by the Administrative Officer Inquiry asking Muhammad Sharif Khan for details of all his promotions, after which the counterfeiter began making political recommendations, and instead of submitting records, he began using political influence to suppress anti-corruption inquiries.

After which another letter No. SLGB / AO / Inquiry / GEN / 2022/038 was issued on 14th January with the signature of the Administrative Officer for Inquiry of Sindh Local Government Board according to which Muhammad Sharif Khan was summoned in person on 19th January along with the record and all other relevant documents including appointment order, office order, medical fitness certificate, first joining letter, first payslip, transfer and posting order, promotion, upgrade order, 5-year bank statement.

Sources said that on January 19, Muhammad Sharif Khan went to SO Admin and SO Five Khalil Sheikh of Local Government, where he took incomplete documents with him, along with a political recommendation, after which the officers ordered him to appear again with the complete and authentic record.

It is to be noted that Muhammad Sharif Khan was recruited as a gardener in Grade 1 in the Local Government Department in 1985, after which he made fake Sindh matriculation from Hyderabad Board without taking leave, on which he got up-gradation and then fake Intermediate and Graduation. Dozens of officers and employees have been deprived of their rights due to the acts of Khan.

It is to be noted that after the up-gradation from Scale 1 to Grade 17, Muhammad Sharif Khan was also upgraded to Grade 18, after which some senior officers lodged complaints with the Local Government Department and he was demoted from Grade 18 to Grade 17 last year. After which Muhammad Sharif Khan along with MQM and Director Parks Central District Nadeem Hanif has started harassing senior and honest officers of Parks Central District.

It is learned that Muhammad Sharif Khan, who was upgraded from scale one to grade 17 through forgery, has made millions of rupees through financial corruption, due to which he has generated assets beyond his known sources of income, the record of which was also given to NAB. Muhammad Sharif Khan is currently living in a 200-yard villa in Bahria Town.

In this regard, Muhammad Sharif Khan when contacted, he said that he did matriculation from Government Latifabad No. 7 Hyderabad and did Inter Private from Ghazali College Hyderabad and later the graduation from Sindh University and I do not remember that I was promoted from scale one to grade 17 or have been upgraded, I can tell this by looking in the file, he added.
