QUETTA: Low-lying areas of Balochistan, including Gwadar, have become flooded as heavy rainfall continues to pour in different areas of the province and Pakistan Army is engaged in relief activities to help the citizens.
According to details, major cities of Balochistan including Gwadar, Chaman, and Turbat were devastated by torrential rains. In Chaman, rivers, and streams overflowed and the floodwaters receded into the alleys.
Several houses were submerged and traffic on Chaman Border Rroad was suspended due to rain. Gwadar was also submerged in rainwater. Dozens of houses and buildings were damaged.
Rainwater also entered houses in Gwadar. Power supply suspended. Pakistan Army’s help was sought in the rain-affected areas. Soldiers are engaged in relief operations.
The Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR) said that Pakistan Army troops assisted the civil administration in rescue and relief operations. Those trapped in the water were evacuated.
According to ISPR, the troops delivered relief goods to various rain-affected areas including Pasni, Nagor, and Jivani.
