A Sindh Bar Council’s Advocate Irfan Mehar has been killed by unidentified assailants in a gun attack on his vehicle in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Johar area after which lawyers went on strike.
According to details, the tragic incident of assassination took place in Block 13 of the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of Karachi. The gunmen opened fire on his vehicle, injuring the Sindh Bar Council secretary.
Irfan Mehr was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but could not recover. The secretary of Sindh Bar Council died on the way to the hospital. Police said that Irfan was shot repeatedly.
Police, in this regard, said that the gunmen fled the scene after the assassination attempt. Lawyer Naeem Qureshi said that Irfan Mehr, a 45-year-old resident of Gulistan-e-Jauhar, had come to Block 13 by car to drop his daughter off at school.

The gunmen opened fire on Irfan Mehr on his way home. The shooters numbered two who fled on a motorcycle after the assassination attempt. Police obtained CCTV footage of the incident.
According to CCTV footage, the accused were wearing helmets and opened fire on Irfan Mehr’s vehicle. Lawyers across Sindh, including Karachi, have expressed deep sorrow over the killing of Secretary Bar Council.
Karachi Bar Association condemned the incident and announced a strike. General Secretary Amir Nawaz Warraich has demanded the arrest of Irfan Mehr’s killers. Boycotting the courts, the lawyers will not appear in court today.
