ISLAMABAD: Deputy Commissioner Islamabad has said that the services of metro transport would not be functional today in the federal capital due to the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F’s Azadi March.
According to a tweet by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat, the metro services would remain non-operational in the city.
Due to maintenance issues metro will not be functional tomorrow. Apologies for inconvenience ????????

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad had said that the services would remain open and there would not be any holiday in the federal capital.
ICT Administration has not issued any notification of a local holiday. Metro will be functional. All entry /exit routes will be opened. However at the time of entry of rally from 11 am to 5 pm Islamabad Expressway, Kashmir Highway and 9th Avenue will be temporarily sealed.

The JUI-F’s anti-government Azadi March is set to enter Islamabad today, they have already reached Gujranwala.
Earlier on Sunday, the anti-government march set out from Karachi’s Sohrab Goth area.
On Sunday night, the marchers reached Sukkur where they spent the night. From Sukkur, the participants reached Multan and are now headed towards Lahore.

The main opposition parties, including Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), have finalized a plan to welcome Azadi March participants on their arrival in Lahore and have set up welcome camps in this regard.
