LAHORE: The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) will release tomorrow its new investigation into international finance and tax havens, named Pandora Papers.

According to details, 615 journalists from 117 countries participated in the investigation. The material has been analyzed for about one year for the preparation of the series.

In a Tweet, the ICIJ said, “Soon everyone will be talking about the PandoraPapers. The new investigation — our most expansive exposé of financial secrecy yet — drops Sunday at 12:30 p.m. EDT, 4:30 p.m. GMT.

Earlier in 2016, the ICIJ made 11.5 million secret documents available to the public for the very first time. The documents, coming from Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca, contain confidential attorney-client information for more than 214,488 offshore entities.

Eight off-shore companies were reported to have links with the family of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his brother, Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif.

According to documents available on the ICIJ website, the prime minister’s children Maryam, Hassan and Hussain “were owners or had the right to authorise transactions for several companies”.
