PESHAWAR: The All Tribes FATA Loya Jirga chief and prominent tribal elders held a meeting with the Iranian Consul General at the Iran Consulate to offer condolences on the martyrdom of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and other senior officials, while also condemning Israeli aggression.
The meeting was convened under the supervision of FATA Loya Jirga Coordinator Nawabzada Fazal Karim Afridi. Tribal leaders assured the Iranian envoy of their “full sympathy, solidarity and cooperation” with Iran in the wake of recent developments.
Malik Akbar Khan Adamkhel told the Consul General that “if Iran needs it, we, the 15 million tribal people, are ready to join Iran with our weapons and our help in jihad against Israel.” Malik Khan Marjan Wazir added that the martyrdom of Iranian officials was both “a source of pride and an honor for the Muslim Ummah,” noting that Iran had set an example of sacrifice in the way of Allah.
The elders further pledged that, when circumstances permit, a fifty-member assembly of tribal leaders would travel to Tehran to convey condolences directly to the Iranian Parliament and express solidarity with the Iranian nation.
Responding to the delegation, the Consul General said Iran was “aware of the bravery and honor of the tribal people,” adding: “We are happy and proud that the white-bearded elders of the nation, who had crushed the pride of foreign powers before us, today express their condolences and solidarity with us. For which we thank you on behalf of all of Iran.”
The jirga leaders reiterated that the tribes “stand with the oppressed and against oppression,” stressing that the spirit of jihad and honor had been inherited by the tribal elders. They maintained that among the Muslim Ummah, the tribes were unique in openly pledging collective support for Iran, and would not hesitate to make sacrifices if called upon.
