ISLAMABAD: The 13th death anniversary of renowned Pakistani Qawwal Badar Miandad was being observed on Monday (today).
Badar Miandad who is also known as Badar Ali Khan was born on 17th February 1962 in Punjab province Pak Pattan district. He was a cousin of the famed maestro Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
Badar Miandad’s father Rasheed Miandad and grandfather Din Muhammad were also famous qawwals of Pakistan. He released about 222 albums in Pakistan and several other albums were also released in the United Kingdom.
Badar Miandad initiated his qawwali career in 1975 and he got fame in the mid of ’80s. He studied singing from his elders and had sung in many Indian and Pakistani films.
He has also composed the music for numerous Pakistani films like Jannat Ki Talash, Chupkay Chupkay and But Shikan, Private/PTV news channel reported.
His famous qawwalis are Jashan-e-Amad-e-Rasool (S.A.W), Dam Dam Hussain (R.A) and Ganj Shakar Wala. He died on 2nd March 2007 in Lahore at the age of 45, due to heart attack
