A young, mentally challenged girl was brutally raped in Shakargarh, Punjab.
The 11-year-old victim was discovered in a state of shock after the attacker, who had scaled a wall to enter her home, fled the scene.
Medical examinations at the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital confirmed the horrific assault. Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect while investigating the crime.
District Police Officer (DPO) Narowal Nazeer Ahmed Malik gave the officers a 24-hour deadline to apprehend the suspect.
This incident follows a similar case last month in Lodhran district, where a mentally and physically disabled woman was raped by a relative. The attacker, who took advantage of the family’s absence, was also able to escape.
Both cases highlight the urgent need for increased protection and support for vulnerable individuals, particularly those with disabilities.
