X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, has introduced a new pricing tier for its Verified Organizations service.
Targeting smaller companies, the “basic” tier costs $200 per month, which is far less than the $1,000 per month needed for full access. It also comes with a gold checkmark badge and a number of other bonuses.
The news was shared by the @Verified account on January 2, but updates to the platform’s Verified website are yet to occur.
The platform, which is owned by Musk and is now led by CEO Linda Yacarino, charges $1,000 a month for organizations and corporations to subscribe to its Verified Organizations service. Included in the cost is verification via a golden tick, which is intended to differentiate between individuals and corporations, as well as a secondary icon that is shared by all connected accounts to validate brand identity.
Additional accounts are added for $50 per month. Verified Organizations also provides defense against impersonation as well as X Premium features, like premium support.
It’s unclear whether Verified Organizations Basic will get access to all of the same features, including support for additional accounts. Eligibility criteria is also an unknown factor at this stage.
