KARACHI: A 3-year-old deaf-mute girl, kidnapped from the Lines Area of Karachi 14 months ago, was recovered on Wednesday.
Police have launched an investigation to locate the whereabouts of Sadia, the young girl who has been held captive for an extended period. SP Jamshid Alina Rajpar announced during a press conference that a specialized team, under his command, has been mobilized to locate the missing girl.
This team has been conducting operations in slum areas, conducting raids at various sites, and utilizing mosque loudspeakers to disseminate information.
Today, a local television channel obtained CCTV footage showing the kidnapper abandoning Sadia near a mosque in the Brigade neighborhood before fleeing the scene. Authorities are currently examining the circumstances surrounding Sadia’s abduction and her movements over the past 14 months.
This incident brings to mind the recovery of four-year-old Ayesha last year from Karachi’s Surjani Town area. Police officials disclosed that the missing child had been residing with a family in Surjani Town. Ayesha’s mother, accompanied by the family caring for the child for the past 3-4 months, arrived at the Azizabad Police Station to report her recovery from the Surjani (New Lyari area).
