Four years after the series finale, Cillian Murphy returns as Tommy Shelby in Steven Knight’s “Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man”, a movie sequel to the famous TV crime drama.
Barry Keoghan and Rebecca Ferguson also appear in the film, which is set in 1940 during the height of World War II.
Tommy Shelby, the former leader of a notorious crime gang, has withdrawn to the countryside to live in isolation as the war unfolds, haunted by his own inner struggles. But when his rebellious son takes over his legacy and becomes entangled in a Nazi plot that could threaten England’s chances in the war, Tommy is forced to return to his old territory to protect both his country and his reputation.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man has received mixed reviews so far as the Times gave it four stars calling it “not subtle but fun.” Meanwhile, the Guardian only categorized it three stars.
The Daily Telegraph was more critical, giving the film two stars and saying it “reaches for moments of greatness… but the peaks aren’t as razor-sharp.”
