An audio recording of PTI founder Imran Khan has leaked from jail, in which he claims to have seen the face of his wife, Bushra Bibi, for the first time after their Nikkah.
The audio, purportedly a part of the hearing of the illegal Nikkah case against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, was posted by prominent anchorperson Iman Riaz Khan on the social media platform X.
In the leaked audio, Imran Khan, apparently speaking in front of the judge, asserts that he saw Bushra Bibi’s face for the first time after their marriage. The audio leak also features Khawar Manika, the ex-husband of Bushra Bibi.
When Imran Khan claimed that he saw Bushra Bibi for the first time after Nikkah, Manika rejected his claim and told the judge, “He is lying, he used to use my bedroom, where he was also being massaged by Bushra Bibi under the guise of Dam.”
It is pertinent to mention here that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi have been awarded 7 years imprisonment each in the illegal Nikkah case. The trial court also fined them Rs. 500,000 each. The case was registered against the couple on the plea of Khawar Manika.
Manika has contended in the plea that the couple solemnized Nikkah before the completion of Bushra Bibi’s Iddat. As per Islamic rules, Iddat is the four-month and 10-day period for a woman after divorce, and before the completion of this period, she cannot remarry.
Like other cases against Imran Khan, the trial of the illegal Nikkah case also took place in Adiala Jail, and only a limited number of media personnel without mobile phones or cameras were allowed to attend the hearing.
