Indian film star Aamir Khan has formally introduced his new girlfriend Gauri Spratt to the public and has revealed that they both have been in a relationship for the past 18 months.
The actor, who has largely kept his personal life private, announced an informal meet-and-greet event in Mumbai, just ahead of his 60th birthday on Thursday.
Who is Gauri Spratt?
As per Indian media, Gauri, who has a six-year-old son, has mostly lived in Bengaluru before relocating to Mumbai. She is of mixed heritage, with a Tamilian and Irish background, and comes from a family with a notable lineage—her grandfather was a freedom fighter. Her mother, Rita Spratt, owned a salon in Bengaluru, and Gauri has continued that legacy by managing a BBlunt salon in Mumbai.
She pursued fashion styling and photography at the University of the Arts, London, after completing her schooling at Blue Mountain School. Interestingly, Gauri isn’t much of a film enthusiast.
It should be noted that Aamir was previously married to Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, with whom he continues to maintain a strong and respectful bond. His next project, Sitaare Zameen Par, a thematic sequel to Taare Zameen Par, is set for release in June, while he is also producing Lahore 1947, starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta.
