The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore on Saturday summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shandana Gulzar on March 14 over allegations against Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
As an elected member of the National Assembly, Gulzar asserted that CM Punjab was implicated in the death of PTI worker Zille Shah.
The accusations prompted Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) worker Shoaib Mirza to file a case against Shandana Gulzar. In response to the allegations, Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari emphasized that Gulzar must substantiate her claims in a court of law.
Shandana Gulzar, providing a basis for her accusations, alleged that the newly-elected CM of Punjab was responsible for Zille Shah’s death and asserted possessing an audio recording as evidence.
Zille Shah, also known as Ali Bilal, was a PTI supporter who tragically lost his life in a road accident during a PTI rally in March 2023. At the time, the PTI leadership had accused the then PML-N government of orchestrating Shah’s death outside PTI founder Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence in Lahore.
