Dua Lipa and Callum Turner are preparing for a lavish three-day wedding celebration in Sicily this week, following a private civil ceremony held on Sunday at London’s Marylebone Registry Office.
The pop star, 30, and actor, 36, have chosen the opulent Villa Valguarnera in Bagheria, near Palermo, as the centerpiece of their wedding festivities.
The 100-room baroque estate, once a gathering place for Palermo’s intellectual elite, carries a complex and dark history tied to Sicily’s turbulent past.

During the 1980s, the surrounding area of Bagheria was part of what became known as the “Triangle of Death” due to a wave of Mafia violence.
The villa itself was reportedly used as a hideout by high-profile Mafia figures, including Bernardo Provenzano and Matteo Messina Denaro, during their years on the run. Local accounts also suggest the property suffered significant damage during that period.

Despite its past, the estate is now a sought-after heritage venue, hosting the couple’s celebrations alongside 300 guests.
The three-day event begins Thursday, with private jet arrivals expected at Palermo airport and a fleet of blacked-out vehicles arranged for transport between luxury villas and hotels.
