NEW YORK: Actress Lindsay Lohan has said that she wants to make a movie comeback with a ‘Mean Girls’ sequel.
Lindsay Lohan also said that the movie Mean Girls sequel would be my perfect comeback. “I should probably get back to doing movies at some point. I think I was hanging on to ‘Mean Girls’ for a really long time. I wanted to come back with a ‘Mean Girls 2’.”
“I want to work with Tina, Mark Waters and the whole crew of Means Girls again. I was excited to do that,” the actor said. “But that is all in their hands, really. So that would definitely be an exciting thing,” she added.
There are no official plans yet for a follow-up film to the hit, but Lohan will next be seen as a police detective in the upcoming thriller ‘Cursed’, alongside Mickey Rourke.
The Mean Girls movie came out in April 2004. Even after 16 years, the female-centric movie is still being talked about due to its phenomenal success and iconic comedy scenes.
According to a report, the film earned an unexpected $24.4 million over its debut weekend. In the movie, Lohan, who played the character Cady Heron, was joined by Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, Amanda Seyfried, Lizzy Caplan, Jonathan Bennet, Daniel Franzese, and Tim Meadows.
