ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Usman Wazeer on Wednesday claimed the vacant WBO Youth world title by beating Thailand’s Somphot Seesa in the Highland Boxing Show in Bangkok.
According to the report, the 22-year-old Usman, who has previously won all eight of his professional fights, was the main attraction of the program and got off to a strong start in the first round.
He persisted in applying pressure in an effort to frighten his 23-year-old rival. He eventually defeated Somphot Seesa in the sixth round with a barrage of powerful right and left punches.
Usman, who goes by the nickname “Asian Boy,” advanced in the WBO welterweight rankings as a result of the victory. In June of this year, in his native of Gilgit-Baltistan, he floored hard-hitting Phatiphan Krungklang to win the WBA’s Asian welterweight title.
