WASHINGTON: State Department Deputy Spokesman Vedant Patel has reacted to the protests and arrests in Pakistan.
While giving a press briefing in Washington, the State Department Deputy Spokesman said that he does not favor any political candidate or party, and believes that protest and expression should be non-violent.
Vedant Patel said that protests and expressions of opinion should be such that they do not harm government employees or property while arrests should also be in accordance with the law.
According to the Deputy Spokesperson of the State Department, a strong, stable, and prosperous Pakistan is important for Pakistan-US relations. On the other hand, the Sindh Food Authority sealed the restaurant of PTI member Sindh Assembly Khurram Sher Zaman in Karachi’s Saddar area.

The Sindh Food Authority had taken the position that the restaurant of Khurram Sher Zaman had been sealed due to poor sanitation and substandard food.
Apart from Saddar, two more restaurants in Karachi South were also sealed. Khurram Sher Zaman said that his restaurant was sealed, this was revenge on the Sindh government.
