The US military has announced that the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, along with accompanying warships, has arrived in the Middle East.
According to the US military, the deployment has significantly strengthened America’s military presence in the region.
The naval strike group has been deployed at a time when tensions between the United States and Iran have been running high, following Washington’s criticism of Tehran’s crackdown on large-scale protests in recent days.
Although US President Donald Trump later stepped back from the option of military action against Iran, he has stated that “all options remain on the table”.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, the US Central Command said the strike group is currently deployed in the Middle East “to promote regional security and stability”.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei warned against any external interference, saying Iran has “full confidence in its own capabilities”.
Referring indirectly to the USS Abraham Lincoln, he added that “the arrival of such a warship will not weaken Iran’s resolve or its seriousness in defending the Iranian nation”.
