NEW YORK: The United Nations has announced honors for the martyrs of Pakistan on the 75th anniversary of the peacekeeping mission.
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the peacekeeping mission, a special ceremony was held in the General Assembly Hall where eight Pakistani martyrs who lost their lives during the peacekeeping mission were honored.
Muhammad Amir Khan and Colonel Afzal Ahmed, the representatives of Pakistan, received the medals of martyrs.
Among the eight martyrs, six martyrs also included who accepted martyrdom during the helicopter crash on March 29, 2022, while performing duties with the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

These martyrs include Lieutenant Colonel Asif Ali Awan, Major Faizan Ali, Major Saad Naumani, Naib soldier Samiullah Khan, Havaldar Muhammad Ismail, and Muhammad Jameel Khan.
Babar Siddique and Naik Rana Muhammad Tahir Islam were martyred while on duty with the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic.
