KARACHI: Two youths and a child who came to have a picnic on Sea View drowned while bathing in the sea due to administrative negligence on the day of Eid.
However, after the incident was reported, Edhi’s divers started searching and after a 12-hour struggle, the body of 20-year-old Sonu, son of Khurram Shehzad was recovered and handed over to his heirs.
The search for the other drowned 20-year-old Danial and 8-year-old Faisal continues. Danial’s parents and other relatives said that they are residents of Gulshan-e-Hadid, Sindh. They said that Danial came to Sea View at 2 pm on Wednesday with his other four friends. They went to bathe in the sea but soon Sonu and Danial drowned.
It should be noted that several children who came to the beach yesterday were separated from their parents, some of whom were taken to the police station by the citizens from where the police handed them over to their parents but till morning many citizens were busy searching for their children.
Dil Agha, the father of the drowning Faisal, said that he had come to the sea with his family on Wednesday afternoon. “I made Faisal stand in a dry place and went to the sea to pick up the other children. When he came back, Faisal was missing,” he said.
