In a horrific incident in Karachi’s Mauripur area, two children aged two and six were raped and murdered.
On Saturday, June 29, the bodies of a 25-year-old woman, her six-year-old daughter, and her two-year-old son were found in a drain near their home in Sher Muhammad Village, Mauripur.
Police reported that the children had been sexually assaulted before being killed. The father, who filed the complaint, told the police that his wife and two children had gone to visit Mehran Bibi for ‘religious and spiritual treatment’ on June 28 but were missing for over 24 hours before being discovered dead in the drain.
According to Dawn’s Imtiaz Ali, Police Surgeon Summaiya Syed confirmed after a post-mortem examination that both the minor girl and her brother had been raped, with the girl subjected to a ‘brutal’ assault. She also stated that the possibility of the mother being raped could not be ruled out until the chemical reports were received.
DIG South Syed Asad Raza told media that a case had been registered, although it appeared that the woman’s husband was not seriously pursuing the murder case of his wife and children.
