The brutal Korean satire “Squid Game” became a global sensation when it first aired in 2021, and its return is set to be just as savage – with expectations high for another massive hit.
“Squid Game Season 2” will premiere on Thursday, December 26, 2024, making it the perfect binge-watch for the holiday season as Netflix closes out the year with this highly anticipated release.
Season 1 followed Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), a gambling addict who joins 455 other financially struggling individuals, all hoping to win a large cash prize by competing in a series of games.
However, they soon find themselves trapped on an island, playing deadly games like marbles in front of a mysterious masked group, with a horrifying twist: failure means death at the hands of the guards.
Season 2 will consist of seven episodes, all written by Hwang Dong-hyuk. All episodes will be released simultaneously on December 26, 2024.
