Two Punjab police officers have set fire to their uniforms and resigned in protest against the alleged torture of policemen at Bahawalnagar police station by Pakistan Army soldiers on the first day of Eidul Fitr.

The incident unfolded around 10 am on April 10th when the soldiers arrived in three to four vehicles.
Initially shared by a Bahawalnagar police official on April 10th, the video illustrates the aftermath of the army’s rampage through the police station. The motive behind the army’s actions stemmed from Punjab police officers taking action against an individual accused of looting, who happened to be a relative of an army officer.
Contrary to the severity of the situation portrayed in the video, Punjab Police authorities downplayed the beatings as a “minor incident,” suggesting that the conflict between the army and police was fabricated to mislead. According to their statement, both institutions promptly conducted a joint investigation following unconfirmed social media rumors. After a thorough review of the facts, the matter was reportedly resolved amicably.
Additionally, the statement highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the Pakistan Army and Punjab Police in the province to apprehend terrorists, miscreants, and dangerous criminals through joint operations.
