QUETTA: Two kidnappers were killed while a child was safely recovered during a police operation against the criminals at the Eastern by-pass area in Quetta.
According to police sources, on a tip-off, the law enforcing authority (LEAs) personnel conducted a targeted operation against the abductors near the eastern by-pass area of the city and during a shootout for some time, two of the kidnappers were killed on the spot, while one of their accomplices was managed to flee from the scene.
The child was kidnapped two days ago from Satellite Town in the city and a ransom of around Rs 10 million was demanded from the family for his safe revival.
The bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital for further medico-legal formalities. A spokesperson of CTD said in November 2019, the security personnel foiled a terrorist plan in Quetta and killed three terrorism suspects in the encounter of fire with the officials of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).
The shootout accrued at the Gulberg area of the Quetta. It further stated the firing incident took place today when the CTD personnel signaled a suspicious vehicle to stop but it continued to move and resulted in the exchange of fire.
