Traders from across the country protest at Islamabad’s Serena Chowk

ISLAMABAD: Traders from all over the country are protesting at Islamabad’s Serena Chowk, while the area has been sealed by the local administration by placing containers.

The business community is saying that the device cannot be allowed to be installed at the point of sale under any circumstances, while a sit in will be observed against the mandatory condition of registration for sales tax. 

President of Anjuman-e-Tajiran Pakistan Ajmal Baloch said on the occasion that they reject all the laws implemented through the Presidential Ordinance. He said that businessmen from all over the country including Karachi and Peshawar would gather in Islamabad today.

The business community said that cell tax registration of small traders was not possible. They demanded that a fixed tax system be implemented for 8 million traders.

According to the business community, their protest will continue till the Prime Minister listens to them. It should be noted that there is a large number of traders at Serena Chowk.
